We start the 2020 Season with a true test of golf at Burnham & Berrow Golf Club. Considered as the best links Golf Course in the South West and featured in the top 30 of Golf Worlds Top Courses to be played. Hosting South West Week and other major Amateur Golf Competitions, this is your chance to play a true Championship Course.

As a member of this club, Graham Brunsdon will host his Captains Day at this venue and I am sure after his wonderful Captains Day last year, he will no doubt be keen to match his efforts. All the members have to do is support his day by turning out in numbers to support him.
Karen Drake the Secretary has kindly provided this society with a good deal well below the normal rate and this is very much appreciated. The tee times are later (12,00 Noon Start) than usual so there will be time for some to use the practice facilities and to have breakfast before we play.
The numbers are limited to 24 including the six members so 18 additional golfers can join us. It is simply on a "first come first serve basis".

At the AGM we have decided to trial an Order of Merit for the Champion Golf of the Society. Points are awarded to each golfer depending where they finish. The Winner will received 100 Second 90 Third 80 points and one point less for all other finishing positions. It will become clearer as the season progresses.
Two Championship Events, Captains Day & President Day carries double points and will affect the Order of Merit significantly so its important that you attend these meetings.
The ever popular Par 3 Competition runs again over the Season and the winner will receive the Alan Bracey Cup and a Hugo Boss Watch.
The Cups that are played for will be presented to the winner at the end of each meeting. It is important that the current holder makes available the Trophy at each meeting. I shall be sending out a reminder to each individual holder before each meeting.
Finally on a personal note some of you know that in November 2019 my wife was involved in a car wreck in Orlando sustaining life changing injuries. Although she is making an unbelievable recovery, it has and will impact on our lives and affect my ability to attend all meetings. For this reason I am a little behind with sending out the usual correspondence to you but will over the coming week bring everything back up to date and as importantly ensure the Society is run in its usual efficient way.
